RMSGNA is proud to announce our Keynote presenter Dr. Patricia Raymond.

Dr. Patricia Raymond takes medicine seriously…and herself lightly.

Dr. Raymond is a nationally known speaker and author on rekindling the joy of practicing medicine. The author of “Don’t Jettison Medicine: Resuscitate Your Passion For the Career You Loved” (2003), “Colonoscopy: It’ll Crack U Up!”, the soon to be released “Colonoscopy is a Gas!” and dozens of published articles and abstracts, Dr. Raymond serves as an expert resource to the media.

She writes editorials about physician-nurse collaboration and on patient partnership, which have been published in magazines, including: Physicians Practice, EndoNurse, Real Life Healthcare and My Family Doctor. Dr. Raymond’s story “Strong Medicine,” on the healing power of words, is featured in Chicken Soup for the Caregivers Soul.

The author of “Don’t Jettison Medicine,” has been in the bowels of “compassion fatigue”. She is dismayed by the increasingly dis-eased healthcare relationships, seeing caring medical careers become joyless, and finding her colleagues fried by professional burnout.

Instead of continuing to dys-function as a frankly cranky caregiver, Dr. Raymond started Rx For Sanity ( to mend her medical calling. Through Rx For Sanity, she humorously leads nurses and physicians to “play nicely in the sandbox of medicine– although frankly it’s usually we docs that hurl the most sand.”

When asked, “What is your vision for how medicine should be practiced?” her answer is simple, “Doctors, nurses, and patients working in partnership to ensure optimum wellness, not just the absence of disease.”
